History[ edit ] The first known rainfall records were kept by the Ancient Greeks , about B. People living in India began to record rainfall in cca B. In the Arthashastra , used for example in Magadha , precise standards were set as to grain production. Each of the state storehouses were equipped with a rain gauge to classify land for taxation purposes. It was Richard Towneley who was the first to make systematic rainfall measurements over a period of 15 years from to , publishing his records in the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society. Towneley called for more measurements elsewhere in the country to compare the rainfall in different regions, although only William Derham appears to have taken up Towneley’s challenge.

History[ edit ] Although Evangelista Torricelli is universally credited with inventing the barometer in , historical documentation also suggests Gasparo Berti , an Italian mathematician and astronomer, unintentionally built a water barometer sometime between and Galileo responded with an explanation of the phenomenon: Galileo’s ideas reached Rome in December in his Discorsi. Raffaele Magiotti and Gasparo Berti were excited by these ideas, and decided to seek a better way to attempt to produce a vacuum other than with a siphon.
The following few paragraphs is a set of rules I had to create because people were emailing me without enough information or asking really stupid questions that I had no way to answer.
Super Air Amplifier and Accessories Super Air Amplifier and Accessories Utilizing the Coanda effect, a basic principle of fluidics, Air Amplifiers become a simple, low cost way to circulate air, move smoke, fumes, and light materials. Using a small amount of compressed air as their power source, Super Air Amplifiers pull in large volumes of surrounding air to produce high volume, high velocity outlet flows through a fixed air gap. Quiet, efficient Air Amplifiers will create output flows up to 25 times their consumption rate.
Both the vacuum and discharge ends of the Air Amplifier can be ducted, making them ideal for drawing fresh air from another location, or moving smoke and fumes away. Also effective to cool, clean and dry parts or processes. Adjustable Air Amplifier and Accessories Adjustable Air Amplifier and Accessories Utilizing the Coanda effect, a basic principle of fluidics, Air Amplifiers become a simple, low cost way to circulate air, move smoke, fumes, and light materials.
Force and flow for the Adjustable Air Amplifier is changed by turning the exhaust end with the knurled ring loose to open or close the continuous air gap. When desired performance is obtained, the knurled ring can be tightened to lock the flow at that setting. Custom materials, mounting options flanges , and sizes available. My power windows don’t move at all! Check the fuse on the power window relay as well as the relay itself for the windows. Also clean the contacts on the switches as noted above – the current for the passenger window passes through the driver’s side switch, so check them all. Can I switch out my 85mph speedometer with a faster one? It is for the same reason that the national speed limit was set at 55mph.
However, this regulatory goal may or may not have something to do with the US government giving large amounts of money to the Chrysler Corporation to produce K-cars. Can I fit the
Sending Unit Extension Water Temp Sending unit The ‘new’ dash unit – ’66 gauge clusters used to be a dime a dozen at the swap meets. They were the bait that the vendor uses to tell you what kind of car he’s parted out and is selling. They can run anywhere from five to fifty bucks for the exact same unit. They are getting increasingly harder to find.
EBAY regularly has them posted and typically go for between 20 and 40 depending on condition.
Heater [Inquiry:] The heater in my TD still thinks it’s summer The engine itself heats up in a normal period of time, coolant temperature is at a normal level.
The following instructions are for creating a MegaSquirt to Relay Board cable. It is for those who are creating their own harness. With both boxes mounted, measure the distance between them from DB connector to DB connector – this will be the length that you will cut the individual wires. If you are not using a Relay Board, allow enough length in each of your wires to reach the target component. It is often better to be too long and trim afterwards, than to be too short and have to splice additional lengths on.
For a Relay Board cable, you can move both heat shrink pieces to the center of the wire length, and then twisting the center of the wire with a few twists to hold the heat shrink in place, so that it does not fall off the wire or run down while soldering the connection. For a pigtail, you can slip the heat shrink tubing on later. Orient them so that both are facing the same way, with pins 1 – 19 closest to you. You will definitely want something to hold the connector, since as you attach more wires it wants to move around more, while at the same time you have less room to solder.
Having it held stable helps a lot. Run one wire from pin 7 to pin 7 there are numbers on the plastic surrounding the connector’s pins and solder both ends. Repeat with pins 8, 9, 10, 11 and 19 this one is important – it is the return wire for the coolant temperature sensor, air temperature sensor, and TPS. Run each of these one at a time, starting with pin 20 to pin 20, then another wire from 21 to 21, etc.

The company that installed it has come out several times to check it out but found no high pressures. I decided to take the high pressure control out of the picture and see if I could eliminate a bad pressure switch. All pressures were good 69 suc.
Bundle fibre optic cables and other cables without damaging them with hook and loop fasteners. They have a velcro strap and can be reused.
You do your own plumbing, home improvements, and even change the oil in your car. Should you attempt it or are geothermal heat pumps just too complicated for even gifted amateurs? The answer is a little complicated. Obviously, there are some technical differences, but nothing obnoxiously complicated. You need a location for the pump, convenient connections to the interior ductwork, and easy access to the exterior ground loop.
If you know your way around wires and utility boxes, this too is an area you should be able to handle. The ground installation type will determine how much earthwork is required.

Diaphragm Seal without back-up flange Wafer type Diaphragm Seal Special attention shall be paid to diaphragm seals on low differential pressure and pressure applications. For low pressure measurement good practice is to increase the size of sensing element so that minor changes are captured. When a diaphragm seal is required, the largest practical diaphragm size and minimum capillary size should be applied. Diaphragm seals shall be ordered as an integral part of the instrument.
The length of the capillary tubing shall suit the application but shall be at least 1 meter. For differential pressure applications with two remote seals, the two parts of the capillary tubing shall be of the same length to nullify the inaccuracy caused by varying ambient conditions. If capillary tubing is exposed to direct sun radiation or to extreme temperature fluctuations e.
Filling liquids shall be selected in consultation with the party responsible for the process design and with the Manufacturer. Filling fluids for capsules and diaphragm seals shall not present a hazard to the environment in the event of a diaphragm failure.

The PLI may have the flexibility to execute the GA with either of the nodal agencies or with both the nodal agencies for providing subsidy to the eligible beneficiaries under the scheme. However, in the latter case, while claiming the subsidy from one nodal agency, the PLIs will have to give the undertaking to the nodal agency that they have not claimed subsidy under CLCSS in respect of the beneficiary unit from the other nodal agency as the case may be.
The subsidy forecast information for every quarter on or before 1 st March for April-June quarter, on or before 1 st June for July-September quarter, on or before 1 st September for October-December quarter and on or before 1 st December for January-March quarter, may be furnished as per prescribed format. The eligible PLI shall furnish details of release of subsidy to the beneficiary units, together with the request for replenishing advance money placed with PLI for release of subsidy, on quarterly basis on March 1, June 1, September 1 and December 1.
The requests of PLI for replenishment of advance money for subsidy, however, would be entertained by the nodal agencies only on receipt of complete details of subsidy released to the beneficiary units. The eligible PLI shall be responsible for ensuring eligibility for sanction of subsidy to the SSI units in terms of Government of India guidelines under this scheme and also for disbursal and monitoring of the assisted units.

The problem is that people fit voltmeters wired to the green circuit, which can be a couple of volts lower than the solenoid i. It’s battery voltage which is important, and any volt-drop between there and the green circuit is down to ageing connections, and the best alternator in the world isn’t going to cure them, although it may cover them up. It was only during a discussion with someone about alternators for a V8 conversion that it became clear – the Lucas alts are too long to fit in the factory position as the rocker cover is in the way!
It wasn’t a problem for Costello as he swung the alternator out from the engine, but the factory fitted the MGB V8 filter high up on the inner wing which precluded that. Hence a shorter alt that would fit directly in front of the rocker cover. Only just though, as the harness plug has to be wiggled off at an angle. This was the case in the 5-pin 2-plug 16ACR from 69 to Initially the 3-pin single-plug alternators used machine sensing i. This is a ‘2-wire’ alternator. Clausager states that a new version of the 16ACR with modified regulator and surge protection was provided in March
